 The Citywide Alliance of Neighborhood Councils

The next Forum of the Citywide Alliance of Neighborhood Councils was being scheduled for Saturday, June 19th at LA City College as usual.  The focus was to have been the new form of DONE within the Community Development Department.

However, this past Tuesday the Education and Neighborhoods Committee voted to recommend that the City Council reject the proposed change.  The full council is expected to follow suit.  According to Paul Krekorian, the Chair of E&N, the process to define a new model for DONE as a stand alone Department will play out over the next six months.

With that in mind, we have decided the best course of action for the Citywide Alliance is to cancel the meeting that was being worked on for Saturday the 19th and monitor development over the rest of the summer.  We have tentatively set the next forum for September 18th.  We will keep you posted.
