The Citywide Alliance of Neighborhood Councils

November 14 , 2009

Colleagues:

Our next Neighborhood Council Forum of the Citywide Alliance of Neighborhood Councils will be held at the Los Angeles City College Faculty & Staff Center at 9:30a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2009.

Our featured speaker will be Police Chief designate Charlie Beck.  We invited  neighborhood council leaders from around the City to join us in a discussion with our new chief about the role of Neighborhood Councils in the operations and deployment of the LAPD in the coming years. 

In addition to the discussion with the Chief, the forum will focus on how the emerging web of alliances and advocacy groups within the NC world can work together to best influence policy decisions in City Hall.  Representatives of the Valley Alliance, the Harbor Alliance, LANC, the Action Summit and others will be participating in the discussion.
