Do you have any idea how many palm readers, massage therapists and other home businesses operate in your neighborhood? You are about to find out, in a big splashy way.

Next Thursday, the Planning Commission will consider a new ordinance that will permit operators of home businesses to put up signs (up to 12 square feet--6 feet high--illuminated) in front yards of residential neighborhoods advertising ANY home business.

The hearing is at 8:30 in the Van Nuys City Hall. On the Planning Commission agenda, this item is scheduled for "after 1 pm."
