Here's one of our current issues:

The 1/2 cent public safety sales tax
The Citywide Issues Group of Neighborhood Councils requests that each Neighborhood Council vote on the following issue:

Shall the Neighborhood Council support or oppose the 1/2 percent increase in the sales tax on the November 2004 ballot?

The purpose of the increase would be to fund additional police officers (3,000 in the city of Los Angeles each costing approximately $100,000 including health and retirement benefits) New York City has twice the percapita police presence of Los Angeles in a much smaller geographic area.

Supporting:
The __________________________Neighborhood Council supports the half percent sales tax increase for the purpose of additional law enforcement.

Opposed:
The ____________________________Neighborhood Council opposes the increase in sales tax for the purpose of additional law enforcement.
