are but a few of the comments we've received so far ...
I
think the new web site is an inspirational model of just how
to approach what it is the NCs can really do. Formulate the
issues and provide a way for people to weigh in and include
in the results all the diversity that invariably will be reflected.
Bring that down to the local NC playing field and set up on-going
issue-polling efforts and report the full results, not just
which point of view got the "winning" number of supporters.
Winning in the NC world is when every possible person's "say"
is included and quantified in reporting the results.
And, that would be of greater value to LA city government
than individual NCs weighing in with just a single point of
view. As purveyors of the grass roots voice, the NCs are more
like market researchers collecting the information that represents
the thoughts, feelings and will of the stakeholder constituency.
For the most part, it is up to the paid, elected officials,
so to speak as the NCs' clients, to decide what to do with
the information. That is not to say that when there is clearly
a consensus, that the NCs will not or cannot apply influence
and, in affect, make their will inescapable.

Congratulations on the new site. I have a feeling it is going
to quickly become the ultimate resource of citywide issues
for NCs.

links, and timely information. This is really a breath of
fresh air.
